Zebra Technologies, a recognized provider in bar code, kiosk, card and RFID printers as well as real-time location solutions, recently introduced its new ultra-high frequency Gen 2 RFID card with Impinj Monza 4 silicon.
The cards also comes with Impinj’s Monza 4 chip, which provides advanced sensitivity giving the card enhanced read rates and a read range of more than 50 feet even while worn in a lanyard.
The new ultra-high frequency card, combined with Zebra’s card printer/encoder line open new applications such as reading through handbags, pockets and backpacks, and delivering increased access control and efficiency.
Benefits of the UHF Gen 2 RFID card include memory configuration to protect privacy and hide sensitive information and a read range reduction feature, protecting users from unauthorized tracking by temporarily reducing the read range of the card to less than one foot.
In addition, a 48-bit unique ID feature protects against card cloning and provides a card authentication method to uniquely identify every card.
